Drawing Workshop: COPIC MARKERS

Copic markers are one of our favorite tools to use when it comes to drawing. The alcohol based, non-toxic markers come in over 300 colors and can be used on several surfaces: wood, clay, leather, vellum, etc. and have been around for more than 25 years! Not to mention that they are refillable so you never have to throw out a marker! We carry a selection of markers, pens and refills at both of our locations.

"Scores of anime, manga, and comics artists – as well as landscape, product, architecture, and fashion designers – prefer Copic markers because of their vibrant, low odor, alcohol-based inks. Unlike water-based inks, which tend to pill and oversoak the paper while blending, Copics mix on the surface to deliver wonderfully rich blends. This outstanding performance has distinguished Copic markers as the celebrated coloring tool within professional, semi-professional and hobby circles alike. Copics are sold in more than 50 countries."

This Saturday, May 25th from 10-12 we're having a Drawing Workshop class that will focus on Copic markers. We still have spots to fill and would love for you to join us! Come learn all you can about these fantastic, forever-refillable, vibrant markers. Give us a call or come by the store to sign up: 503-249-2190

Mark your calendar for Tuesday May 21st to Support The Sellwood Middle School Foundation

We are one of over 50 businesses that are participating in a great event on Tuesday May 21st called Support Sellwood & Celebrate Sellwood.

Faced with looming budget cuts at Sellwood Middle School this event was created to raise funds for the music and art programs and student electives.  Over 50 local businesses are donating funds on this day in hopes of saving these essential programs that truly enhance the student's middle school experience.  Check the event's facebook page for a list of all the donors HERE.

This wonderful community building and fundraising event has been scheduled to coincide with the school's Community Appreciation Day parade.  The entire school will be marching in the parade which begins at 11am.  The parade route can be found HERE We hope you can join us, or at least help us spread the word about the event.

Thanks so much, we hope to see you Tuesday in Sellwood!

NEW Yellow Owl Workshop

We're so excited to have these NEW carve your own stamp kits in from Yellow Owl Workshop! Each kit includes carving tools, transfer paper, ink pad, mounted soft blocks and a poster of templates. We didn't think we could love this company anymore but alas!

The great folks at Yellow Owl have also released a gardening plaque stamp, just in time for summer!

And as if it couldn't get any better, both of our stores are now carrying the Yellow Owl Workshop stamp pads in ten gorgeous colors! We love these because not only are they bright and beautiful, they can go on almost EVERY surface: clay, metal, glass, paper, fabric, wood, etc.
